Carne Asada
I absolutely loved the Asada plate! Everything was just perfect! I'm a fussy eater and the chef cooked it just right, medium-well done! and I have to say it was the best I've had in years! I live out in Santa Clarita, and the Mexican restaurants are mediocre at best. My wife's practice is down the street from your restaurant, and it's always a treat when get to eat your food! And FYI, my mother in law who hates most Mexican restaurant's (she's from Mexicali) in the LA area, but she loved your food! So well done!
Mi Rancho Grilled Skirt Steak
Love this restaurant! Great food, staff amazing, and if you catch the owner onsite, complete delight and awesome hospitality. Thank you. The food was great!
Enchilada de Camarones
When I visited El portal with my coworkers they had good food but what stood out the most was the lovely environment and amazing service. I will definitely be coming back with my family.

Amazing food! Amazing drinks! Amazing service! Amazing salsa!!! Loved everything about our experience. Would recommend 10/10!
Enchiladas de Mole
I can't recommend the Enchiladas de Mole more! The sauce is so delicious and the chicken is tender and fresh. Also try the La Fuente as an appetizer. Its a mix of shrimp, flautas, nachos, quesadilla strips, and more. OK, last but not least if you love a great drink, try the Pomegranate Margarita on the rocks! Enjoy!
Enchilada
Enjoyed a delicious dinner in a beautiful outdoor courtyard!! I ordered Enchiladas with Mole sauce and others at my table ordered a variety of plates, all delicious! Excellent service too!
Cochinita Pibil
It was so delicious!! Moist, great flavor!! I normally am not a big black bean person but I almost finished the whole serving!! It's been quite awhile since I have been there. I plan on being back soon!! The atmosphere and wait staff...outstanding!! Oh and the margarita!!!! Delish!

Fajitas (Chicken or Beef)
My husband and I have been together for almost 25 years now and our date night here was probably one of the most romantic we've ever had. We were seated quickly without wait even though it was a Friday night and the staff was really attentive even in this tough labor market. Every item we ordered looked like it was made fresh and no shortcuts were taken to skimp on quality or quantity. The candy and spicy margaritas were really enjoyable. The music group that night were so talented and sincere; their voices and instrumentals moved us to tears which I don't think has ever happened for us. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting while providing clean intimate space under appealing outdoor shelter. Thank you for a great experience. If we're in the area again, we look forward to returning.
